Default rear end

no, not on a hot woman but 2 questions...

1) how do i know what gear ratio I have...RPO code list?
2) I have the driveshaft off and as I rotate the spline into the rear housing, there is a little bit of play before I see tires moving. Is this normal? If not, what is this an indication of?

ps, I'm going to replace ALL U-joints nontheless.

1. Either A RPO list (which i don't have in front of me) Or simple rotate the input yoke 1 full turn and count how many times the output rotates.

2. A little is normal, its called backlash, Nothing to worry about unless its really excessive.

GM3....looks like a 3.45. Good for acceleration but not for top end...

If your RPO list says GM3 than you have 3.45's. That's what I have in mine. The RPO codes 1993 are as follows:

GM1 - 2.59
GM3 - 3.45
GU2 - 2.73
G44 - 3.07

3.07's would probably be the best for off the line acceleration and top end.
