When cornering hard in overdrive the trans. well shift back to direct at the end of the corner will go back to O.D.. Have tryed to fix it for twenty years. When it was under warranty, was told car was not made to corner at a fast pace by a rep. of the General! Any ideas?

Pure b.s. I assume this it's not just a throttle downshift..
Does the light go off when it kicks out of overdrive? If it stays on, your pump is sucking air. You need to make sure your filter grommet and pickup tube are seated properly, and that you have enough fluid in there. It need to be topped off while the car is in gear and running (on jackstands).
If doug nash and the filter suppliers would break the sharp edges/flashing on the pickup tube and filter hole, this wouldn't be a common occurence.
Light stays on and does it on a steady throttle. Have tryed to overfill it in the past it did not fix it. Will try filling when it is running and check the pickup. Thanks for the input.
Gave a ride to a G.M. rep. to show him the problem, was told car was not made corner like that. It will shift down when you feel some G-force in the corner. Maybe about 6/10ths. to put a number on it.

The car wasn't designed to pull .9 Gs... but luckily they put in a state of the art 3-axis accelerometer to down shift out of overdrive just in case.
I'm kidding actually. I've never had that problem when cornering hard. You sure it's not the fuel cutting out making it feel like it's dropping into overdrive?
