Default Speedometer bulbs

I'm replacing dash bulbs in my '88. No one has the bulbs I need including GM. There are no numbers left to read on them. They would be the four bulbs on the lower part of the speedometer, tachometer encasement. Can anyone help ? Thanks. Steve

Are you talking about the small push in bulbs???? If so, i got mine at NAPA after wearing myself out searching for a dealer/outlet trying to find one. A forum member was able to provide the number and a place (NAPA) to purchase them. They were very inexpensive compaired to some catalog stores. If these are the bulbs you are speaking of, the small halogen bulb, I will get the number for you off the package of spares that I keep on hand....

Your option is to convert to the 194 bulb. This is not as bright and generates less heat. (this is good) You will need to purchase both the bulb and socket (times 4) This will also require the digi-dash disassembly to replace the sockets.

If your interested there is an instruction manual available to assist you.

The 194 lamps have folded back small diameter wire leads. The 882 lamps have much larger diameter dual pins that plug into a socket. The 194 leads will not make connection to the sockets! Install the 882 lamps, they last a long time!

I just bought a set of 194's and sockets at advance auto parts, haven't installed yet. That cluster is such a pain to get out but will do this winter.

When I got mine through NAPA they were known as BP882. They were ~8.50 each.
