Default just needed to vent

Last year I spent 2 mos reconstructing my vert. The first day I took it out I went to the grocery store to pick up a few items. I always parlk all of my cars in the nose bleed section (furthest away) Some inconsiderate as% backed into it and tore the paint from the corner of the bumper. I repainted it last night and assembled today at a friends collision center. Girlfriend called to pick something up on the way home from the collision center today and I stopped at the conveience store. I parked at the last spot to the left from the building with 4 spots left open to the right. As I come out there is a 350LB plus lady less than 2.5 feet from the passenger door. Before I could drop what I was holding to run to my car she had opened her door and beat a spot of paint off my passenger door then continued to squeeze her gigantic body from her Geo prizm. I stood their stunned! She walked up to me at the sidewalk turned to my car and said "oh Im sorry" and walked in. To end this story I called the police and refused her to leave. I stood and had to try to push her away every time she went for her door. At one time she rolled to the passenger side and tried to crawl from the passenger door to the drivers side. To say the least she wasn't very succesfull as I held her back by her shoes. Just needed to vent ! To all have a better weekend than me

Here in Canada if someone dings your car like that you can charge them with hit and run...even if they acknowledge ignorance and deny it...as long as you have proof! I would of made her "eat" my door!

Actually he's perfectly within his right to detain someone who has commited an offense...(in this case damage or mischief - depends on local statutes)...as long as the force used to detain is not excessive. Holding someone by their shoes to prevent them fleeing the scene is pretty minimal use of force, all things considered. Not like he climbed aboard and started pummeling Mrs. The-Hutt.

Heck, I don't blame you for what you did!

I also park in the nose bleed section, but there's always some butt head that just wants to be mean. You can't do anything about it, but heck yeah!, I would have done the same thing.

Seems you can't have a darn thing anymore without someone wanting to ruin it for you!

I wittnessed the same kind of act before like you described. What is wrong with these people?

For me, I waited so long to get my jewel, I want to protect him anyway I can.

You go!!!!!

Hope you get her!

The officer told me that she will receive a fine for her actions and that I should just contact my insurance company. Good thing I have another 1/2 pint of torch red. Just hate pulling the door panel to remove the door molding and mirror.

She has a hard enough time fighting gravity, let alone you holding her shoes. How cruel.

So, why was she parking in the back? Exercise? Nah....

this kind of stuff disgusts me.

when 90% of idiot parents with their minivans and 5 kids climbing out flying doors open, and no matter where i park when i take my son to football or soccer practice, i just want cringe.

however, the key to my house is very sharp, and for some reason when i leave, i accidently leave some nasty scrapes... and i don't even care. it beats shooting them in a public place.

These days I'm not sensitive to such, though I it does cross my mind but after I have the 35th repainted I know how I'll be...

Even now, at the mall, I park on the end with an island on one side or between two vehicles where there is plenty of room on both sides. Since I don't "linger" in the mall I figure I'll likely be out before either of the other drivers is.

Occasionally I've walked up to my Vette while someone is entering/leaving their vehicle. If they see me approaching the Vette, often the person will look at it and show care in their actions. In which case I always give a "thanks" to show gratitude for their thoughtfulness. Hey, positive reinforcement couldn't hurt.

BTW, you want to have some real fun...post a link in OT.

Know how you feel. 20 some years ago I had a '67 chevelle that I had repainted and new interior installed. Looked sharp. Went to the mall one day and parked way out in the boonies a dozen spaces away from anyone. When I came out there was some kind of POS basket case junk pile parked right next to my car. Sure enough, the door of the POS chipped my paint. Then, not long after while my car was parked in front of my house a kid on a bicycle was riding around. In case you haven't guessed, he wiggled and wobbled around and landed right on my car. I yelled at him 'what do you think you're doing!?' He just said sorry and went on his way. New paint just seems to be a magnet for such things for some reason.
