From: 86 Z51 Coupe Branson,MO
Default ?'s about my Build codes

I researched my build codes and have ?'s.I have an 86 coupe.G44 3.07 rear.Does that mean dana 36 or 44?And I found that I have a Z51 .Thats always nice to know.FE7,Does that pertain to the Z-51?I had no idea about any of this so was excited to find out.

G44 is the 3.07 rear axle. This rear was only available with automatic transmissions which all had D36 rears.

FE7 is the RPO code for high performance suspension i.e. Z51.

FE7 is the code for the heavy duty suspension.
Z51 is a performance package, that includes many (depending on the model year 84-90) options, including FE7.

Heavy duty Huh?What changes did a Z51 in 86 have over a stock?

For 1986

quicker steering ratio
thicker sway bars
stiffer springs
16x9.5" wheels
*radiator boost fan
*Delco-Bilstein shocks
*oil cooler
*heavy duty radiator

*= optional on regular Vettes
