Default [Like the C5 guys, flush mounted tail lights? on a C4?]

I wonder why no one's done it, or there isn't a kit available for it? I love the flush mount tail lights on a C5. Cleans up the back end of the car and really reduces water collection when washing the car.

Has anyone ever done this to their C4? does anyone make a kit? I would have done that mod to my c4 when I had it for sure. I'd bet it'd look cool on a c4. What do you think?

I just got that kit for my dad's C5 and was looking all over to see if they had it for the C4. Them C5 guys have a ton of options...we don't seem to have much of anything compared to them. I think flush mounted tail lights would be killer on a C4. We'd need new lenses and not just a set of bolts and gaskets...but I'd pay for it.

I'm not much on cosmetic mods, but I think it would look good and I'd consider doing it.

Ecklers offers a kit to place a lense over your existing tail light for '91 - '96 model years.

Good luck,
Dino

I like how the tailights are sunken in on the C4's, especially the early ones.

There was a thread in the last few days re changing a bulb in the back. One poster showed his L98 with extended wing nuts on the inside to ease changing bulbs which had the effect of pushing the lens out almost flush with the back facia panel. Looked really good and all it takes are some sort of wing nuts. See if you can find the thread.

I like the tailights on my 89 but as soon as I leave the car wash there is crap inside the wells. Would be nice to have some clear covers to go over them and the plate.

JD, I think Tommy Morrison had a kit or at least had them on his cars and that guy from VA had them as well.

I hate cleaning the area by the tail lights they hold too much dirt.

a flush mount kit would be worth it's weight in gold (oops mean gas) just a few seconds of driving after a hearty detail the ledges are full of dust/dirt.

would like to see some pics

I don't think flush mount lights would look right on a C4, namely, because the bottom lip of the taillight opening is much deeper than the top lip, whereas, the lip on a C5 is pretty much even all the way around.

All you guys talking about how dirty the light wells get...the whole darn back of the C4 gets dusty/dirty every time I take it out, even on a nice sunny day...and I'm sure yours does too, especially the ledge where the license plate is. It only takes a second longer to wipe/dust around the lights. Sorry, I like the way they're recessed.
