I am a fairly new Corvette owner 6 months to be exact..I see alot of reference to a GS model..what is a GS..and how does it differ from say my 95 vert with an LT1?
The GS is a Grand Sport, a last hurrah for the C4 era.
It came only in Admiral Blue with a wide white stripe and two red hash marks on the drivers side of the hood.
The VIN runs from 600001-6001000 and is unique to the GS only.
From the VIN's you can see only 1000 were made, 810 coupes and 190 convertibles. The coupes came with 17 x 9.5 wheels on the fronts with 17 x 11 on the rear and the Convertibles got 8.5's up front with 9.5's in the rear. The coupes also got fender flares on the rear to help cover the wider wheels and tires. The wheels were black five spokes like the ZR1 had(but different offsets).
They were all LT4 engines with the six speed trans. I believe all convertibles had only a white top and the interior was either all black or black/red.
There is much more, but should be enough for you to get started on.
