Default Suggest a muffler?

I've been running open pipes for a bit. Want some cheap cans that'll shut it up a bit, and won't cost more then meybe $80/ea. What do you guys like for sound?

I figure the good old dual chamber flowmasters are tried and true. Mine isn't really loud at all, just rumbles nicely.

The stock LT1 system flows good and I have seen them offered for free, gratis, nada.

I had muffler elim pipes and it got old after 6 months or so. I put on some LT1 mufflers in there place to shut her up some and it sure did. I payed $70 bucks for both shipped to my house. You won't have a hard time finding them in the C4 sale section.

also they idn't slow the car down in the 1/4 at all. infact i had better 60ft times with the LT1 mufflers and i didn't loose any MPH topend. No real gain,no real loss. Just sounds super quiet. I'd think if wether wasn't a big factor at the track i'd actually improved by putting LT1 mufflers on!

Well, I went to smog with a new front Y no precats, and a new center main. passed, the guy didn't say anything about it. Then since I'm burning a little oil, I took the main cat out and just put a piece of 3" in place of it. I do feel bad about it, and the car stinks, but the cat was starting to get plugged up. So once I fix the valve guides (or whataver is making it burn) I'll go with a fat randomtech or something.

Those are cool, where did you find those? I like that look, but I already have large rectangular stainles tips that I rather like.

I think i narrowed my search down to Spintechs. Anyone got any info on those? They were on the eleanor car in gone in 60 seconds AFAIK, and after checking out some sound clips they are different enough to suit my taste...
