Weatherstrip 101....
Greetings and happy turkey day to one and all,
I have replaced some of my weatherstrips on my 86, I have the doors targa/halo band and rear hatch still to go,
Wich ones of these use sealer, because my door weather strips appear to be held on with pins, screws on the ends,
I guess this question is only for those who have been there and done that,

Everything you have left to do uses the adhisive. Not a messy job though. I just put the adhisive in the metal retainers. I did remove the retainers before hand and cleaned them really well. I used the adhisive fairly conservativly because the retainers hold the wheather stripping fairly tight.

I recently bought a set of door weatherstrips for my '86. The instructions that came with them recommends using 3M black weatherstrip adhesive between the pins that are set in the weatherstrip.
