Default Thank you

First of all I am not bashing anyone just making an observation.
I ran across a 1958 for sale locally and went to the C1-C2 for sale/wanted section for some advice. I was disappointed with very little response. Did I post in the wrong section? Should I have posted in the C1-C2 general discussion? I guess my point is I feel if I would have posted here in the C4 section I would have gotten much more help. Whenever I have sought advice here or in the C5 section for that matter I have always received multiple hits containing mostly valuable information. Sometimes it is hidden within some smart azz comments, however I usually take that as “all in good fun”. (Since I tend to be known as a bit of a smart azz myself)
I think next time I’ll try posting here first and hope it does not get moved.
So I just wanted to say, Thank you to everyone for all your help and comments.

it's hard to say if the C1/C2 folks ignored your question, or, due to lack of traffic, didn't see it.

But I agree, the C4 group is always there to help... or insult and call you names... it's all there... one stop shopping!!

I did notice not a lot of traffic. I have had more hits and emails since I posted this.
I wonder...are the C1/C2 guys hanging out here?

think about it... how many C1/C2's were built, how many still exist, and the nature of them now, they are blue chip collectables right now.

I think you will find that the C1/C2 types are very tight knit (and this is not a bad thing).

Does C1/C2 have a Yacht Club General Discussion Group?

Sounds like this is probably the case.

There's some cool guys over there, just takes a little longer to get a respone sometimes-less traffic.

There are a lot fewer of them than there are of us or C5 owners

I read the thread you started in C1/C2 For Sale. You might do better asking in the Factory Correct Restoration (FCR) section of this forum - those folks are used to people asking them for advice on older Corvette purchases. Realistically, you might do even better by talking to some folks who are in the Indiana chapter of the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) http://www.ncrs.org/in/ or Great Lakes chapter of the Solid Axle Corvette Club (SACC) www.glcsacc.org .

Some questions I would expect to hear:

1) Do you want to drive it seriously or restore it to near perfection?

2) Are you locked in on 1958?

3) Do you have color or other option requirements?

4) How much do you want to spend?

Hope this helps...

NO WIFE - are we cool? I feel like an idiot after whining about the stereo. My only regret is that you have the best license plate that I have ever seen.

Hi No Wife,
Prior to deciding that the '89 C4 was the 'vette I needed to buy as a daily driver, I spent 2+ years studying C2s-had decided on a '64 coupe. I got a lot of info from the guys at NCRS.org. They were generally helpful and the search function works rather well. I suspect every question that can be asked about the C1 thru C3s has been answered on their site. I haven't been there for awhile but I think they're now getting into early C4s also. Lots of luck!

Up to 1991 now...had four 1990s (including a ZR-1) flight judged at my chapter's meet last month - all top flighted. Gorgeous cars.
