Default Greetings

Greetings all,

Just acquired my first Vette. A 92 torch red coupe. I'm happy to finally be a Vette owner and really appreciate all the info on this site. I have learned a lot about my new weekend toy.

Happy Holidays,

Rich

Welcome and congrats on your choice of Corvettes...C4's don't come any finer than Torch coupes.

I think you'll like it here.

welcome . you will find it friendly and very helpful here.

First tip... check the area between the condenser and the radiator... it is notorious for filling with garbage and causing your C4 to run hot...

Default Thanks for the warm welcome

Thanks for the warm welcome and the first tip. I will definately check it this evening. This Vette was owned by a older fellow, always garage stored on carpet. Never driven in the rain. It has been driven twice in two years. The only mod is a flowmaster exhaust that sounds too sweet to turn the radio on. It's an automatic. 65k in miles, picked her up for 10k. I live in the Texas Hill Country and have a lot of curves and hills to have fun on. I've taken her out enough to run two fresh tanks of gas through her. Washed her three times, waxed twice, ongoing detailing inside. Everytime I get in her I see a new nook and cranny that needs my trusty new box full of cleaning products. My wife is wondering why this "used car" gets more attention than the 40k ranch truck.... should I try and explain it??

Congrats! There ain't much that's finer than a Torch C4!

Welcome to the Corvette brother/sisterhood. You'll find a wealth of knowledge and experience in the C4 section of this Forum.

Enjoy the ride.

Be well,

SJW

How do you explain an addiction? With a little time and a few nice rides, I am sure she will understand.

Glad to see you've already picked up the cleaning obsession, as so many of us have.... when i first got my 93, i washed it about every other day...... Cleaned and conditioned the inside about once every week...

now Almost a year later, and i've toned it down a little... now i wash her maybe once a week, and the inside cleaning has dropped to once every 2 or 3 weeks..

btw, nice car.

Welcome to this great site. Lots of helpful people here, even when you post not so smart questions. I know I'm guilty of that from time to time. Everyone is willing to help and give their advise.
My advise, replace all those water hoses before they go out on you. I just finished a nightmare of a project replacing my opti due to a broken upper hose.

Why howdy neighbor... Coming from Austin, you pass my place. We have 50 acres+/- a little less than half way between Tarpley and Utopia coming from Bandera. Sure be nice to run the scenic loop with ya. We have a '65 up the road that would go as well.... we could sandwich him. Let me know when you are coming next, meet you at Williams Creek Depot in Tarpley for dinner at Nalene's "Mac and Ernies". My treat.
