New 2 Here
My wife is Christy
My brother and my sister have owned vettes in the past that I have driven.
I have never owned one myself untill now.
We came across a 1996 CE convertible.
It has the beige interior in it.
LT1 with automatic.
Just over 24000 miles on it.
The Vette is just like new, with the original tires on it.
I probably will not post much but am sure that I will learn about the car quite a bit on here. (Like how to put the top down)
More stuff later as I learn my way around

Read the owners manual cover to cover. THat will help alot. Especially when it comes to the E brake. Don't want you having to get towed home.
Remember to wave!

The longer you are here, the more you'll post.
PS You didn't have to tell us it was an automatic, we already knew that. Can you guess how we knew??

The first two rules you need to know are:1. Always wave!
2. Always stop to offer help.
As others have suggested, read your owner's manual cover-to-cover. If you intend to spend any time under the hood of this car, I highly recommend you get a copy of the Factory Service Manuals for your '96. They're worth their weight in gold. Check with Helm, Inc (who publishes them for GM), and/or E-Bay. If you shop on E-Bay, make sure you get a set with the red covers (others are preliminary editions, and will be less complete and accurate than the final, red-cover version).
If you don't have the owner's manual, get one of those too. Until then, to drop the top:
1. Fully release both of the locks above the sun visors. Fold the sun visors down out of the way.
2. Open both doors, or lower both windows.
3. Pull loose the two inner liner flaps that are Velcro-secured at the B-pillar location (just behind the rear vertical edge of each side window).
4. Release the top from the deck at the rear. There should be a release handle under the deck lid behind the driver's seat headrest.
5. Lift the rear edge of the convertible top as high as it will go, and hold it up there.
6. Release the latches on the deck lid (there should be a release button under the deck lid, not too far away from the other handle you just pulled).
7. Raise the deck lid to its fully upright position. Take care as you raise it to ensure that the leading edges of the deck lid don't contact the weatherstripping on the raised convertible top, or it can damage the weatherstrip.
8. Check to be sure that there's nothing in the storage compartment that will interfere with the top as it stows away in there. If in doubt, remove everything to be sure you have the necessary clearance back there.
9. Lower the rear edge of the convertible top back down to its normal resting position. It should now be hanging over the opening.
10. Gently lift the front end of the convertible top, and continue rearward until the entire top has folded and dropped behind the seats.
11. Swing the two latches (at the front edge of the convertible top) back to their normal position (as if they were latching to the windshield frame).
12. Gently push down on the top on both sides, to make sure it's settled into the storage cavity.
13. Gently close the deck lid over the stowed top. Press down on each side to fully latch the deck lid (two clicks per side).
14. Go cruise in a Really Cool Topless Corvette!
Raising the top back up is basically the reverse of the above procedure, but you'll also have to press down on the top above each of the two rear latches to latch the rear edge of the top to the deck lid. This is done as the last step in the procedure.
Be sure to send us some pix, and add some useful info to your profile (details about the car, where you live, etc) so that we're better able to help you out when you have questions in the future.
Be well,
SJW

I don't know how you knew it was an automatic.
I did print off the top up and down instructions(thanks)
And I don't know why it has the beige colored interior either.
I put a couple of pictures in the 96CE portion. Maybe you all can find them there. Its been rainy out since we got the CE, so the pictures are from the garage.
Your right about the tires, they have got some tread but do show signs of cracks here and there.
Oh yeah, it did come with an owners manual and some reciepts from the first half of its life.
