I HAD MY LAST NERVE TRASHED TODAY, I BOUGHT ANOTHER CCM FROM A SALVAGE YARD HAD IT SHIP TO THEM ON TUESDAY A WEEK AGO , I UNDERSTAND IT WAS THE HOILDAY BUT THEY HAVENT TOUCHED MY CAR SINCE FRIDAY, THE CCM WOULD HAVE TO BE INSTALLED AND ANOTHER IGNITION KEY CUT TO MATCH THE VATS SYSTEM FOR THE CAR TO RUN. I HAD TO CALL THE SHOP FOREMAN ASK HIM IF HE HAD THE CERTAIN SCANNING TOOLS NEEDED TO DO THIS AND INSTRUCT HIM OF THE BASIC PROCEDURE. HE SAID OH YEA WE COULD DO THAT. THESE GUYS DONT CALL NEVER FOLLOW UP AND YOU CANNOT GET THEM ON THE PHONE. I WONDER IF A BILL HEARD FAMILY MEMEBER RELIZES JUST HOW THIS DEALERSHIP IS RUN I AM SOOOOOO PIZZZZZZZZZZZZED

if your vette isn't under warranty, why would you ever bother to take it to any dealership in the first place?

what you're describing actually sounds pretty normal.

SO WHY ARE YOU YELLING.

3 things to remember when you think about taking your vette to a dealer
1. never ever take your vette to a dealer.
2 .never ever take your vette to a dealer.
3. never ever take your vette to a dealer.

I have a Bill Heard dealer about one mile from my house. A bunch of clowns. I'd be hesitant about about buying a CCM from a salvage yard. P.S. Stop yelling!(you know about the CAPS lock key?

we hear this over and over and over again, and yet people still take their cars to dealerships. it must be a comfort level thing.

i have no idea how to do mechanical work. i found an independent mechanic who works on corvettes from guys in a local corvette club. does wonderful work.

just because it says chevrolet on the name, doesn't mean they know what the hell they are doing. they may or may not, and i am sure there are very good mechanics at certain dealerships, but working on our cars is not what they are about. they are about selling cars and that is it.

This stealership called Michael Holley Chevrolet is probably one of the biggest "legalized" robbers in the country. Could you imagine that their labor rate is $85/hr and it calls for 3 hours to change each headlight motor??? ****ing yeah right!!! Might be because I own a Vette. Don't forget the tax! I am still in search for a good shop. Unfortunately dealerships are out of the question.

If you don't do the work yourself... just get ready to bend over and take it in the pooper. I do NOT like dealerships at all, but when I had my 91 Trans Am... I had some electrical problems that I couldn't figure out. I kept blowing alternators every other day. (and this was before I knew there were cool and informative forums such as us )

None the less, I spent over $800 with very reputable small time shops locally to fix the problem only to end up taking it to a dealership and paying another $530 for them to get it right. In the end I spend over $1300, was out of a car for 4 months, and all I got was a GM alternator and a new ground wire.

Sometimes the dealerships are better than smaller shops, other times they are a PITA. If you don't know what to look for or what you are doing... what other options do you have? I personally don't trust too many people to work on my car.

I take my car to the dealership everytime it has a problem.
I have the extended warranty, $100.00 copay.

I get a ride home and they detail the car when its done.
