Hi all , had my car touched up a bit and was just curious is there any thing I can use to remove a bit of oversprays on my side view mirror . It is minimal but it bothers me just the same . Car itself is showroom . Not a chip or ding anywhere just that damd overspray !!!
I'm just editing to make sure everyone knowa I'm speaking of the mirror itself is what has the bit of overspray on it ...
i had some small over spray on my car and i used mother step 1 precleaner and that took it off. I think a clay bar does as well. if it was on a window you could use an steel wool pad thats used for cleanin over spray off of windows found at autobody supply places but i wouldnt use that on the heated mirrors... try clay bar or mothers Step 1

Clay the finish, if it doesn't remove it all. Try Zaino Z-PC. Best product I have found so far, the products is easy to move on the surface and breaks down much better. Take a look at the info on it zainobros.com. You can get some clay bars there too.

overspray on the glass: razor blade
overspray on the paint: claybar
Mabey it's just the heated mirrors that are plastic but I used a razor gently on a very small spot now I have scratches on it.I do mean gently too.Do as you wish but I will never use a razor blade again.

I believe the heated mirrors have a platic type film over them thats why i said dont use a steel wool (which works best on glass) because it might damage the film that actually heats the glass mirror
A razor blade with etch glass too. Actually the clay bar will work on glass just as well as the finish. I think they are mirror glass, if you heated plastic it'd probably warp over time.
Heated mirrors have a film that will scratch, don't use a razor blade! BTW, the shop should buy you a new mirror, overspray on any part is their fault. Most body shops spray all of the parts not being painted with a washable goo that will not hurt the surface, but protects against overspray. It's cheap insurance against accidental overspray. They may be able to buff your mirror out with plastic cleaner/polish, but as soon as you touch it, it becomes your problem unless they are very customer service oriented.

Thanks for all the replies folks , I will try the clay bar ...as far as the body shop they are very customer friendly and I could go back , but I'm talking about minimal overspray . If I can't get it off I will go back and have them do it or buy me a new mirror ...
