Default steam from radiator cutting off engine

Well I was replaceing my air filter on my 86 vette when I droped a bolt between the radiator so I had to remove the radiator shroud. Well when I took the shroud off I notices about 4 pounds of leaves and other crap between my radiator so I decided to clean it out with a hose. Well I put everything back togeather and now steam comes out
of my radiator and when I give the car gas it cuts out. Did I do anything
wrong spraying water around the radiator ?

I think you may have gotten the ignition wet! Was water shooting to the back of your engine?

If so pop the cap and dry it out.

Washing the radiator didn't hurt anything, the water just got somewhere else where it shouldn't have. The problem may solve itself as it dries out or you may need to dry out the cap and rotor or some electrical connection that has gotten wet. You could have failing plug wires too, moisture could show up a weakness in them.
