I'm hoping someone can help me out here. Inside the C4 console there is a little metal tab that the lid actually latches to. Mine is broken off, so that the lid does not latch. Anyone have one of these on a parts car, or lying in a parts bin somewhere, that they would be willing to sell?
Just to clarify, this part is not the console lid button/spring assembly that you find in all the parts catalogs. It is attached to the consle, not the lid, and is simply an L-shaped piece of metal that when you push the console lid down, the button "striker" hooks underneath of it.
If you have one, or know where I can get one, please PM me. Thanks!
This wouldnt be hard to make, just see if you can have a look at someone else's, and figure out what you have in your house that you might be able to cut and bend to do the same job. Maybe cut a piece out of a steel can of some kind, and paint it after cutting/bending.
I think Ebay would be a good place to check, put in 'C4 Console' on a search.

I doubt you'll find that tiny piece on Ebay especially without buying something substantial along with it. Give a call to a few Corvette salvage yards.
Made one out of a piece of perforated strapping. Got the measurments off a buddys car, cut it ot length, bent it, then filed the edges down so I would't slice my pinkies up. You could probably refine that a little. Made mine three years ago and it's still holding up. It is only held on by one screw. Good Luck!
