def dont use it on oil pan or heads. nly thing that goeso n heads, is a copper spray adhesive, which is used only for copper head gaskets.....
I usually use a smudge of sealant on the TC gasket, WP gaskets, intake gaskets, and the front and rear sealing areas of the manifold.
no need to use it for headers. good quality gaskets make a good seal ( SCE copper gaskets, fel pro copper gaskets, fel pro high quality composite header gaskets)
Permatex has dozens of products. I use permatex liquid teflon on the head bolt threads and intake bolt threads. I also use it on pipe threads. I use a thin smear of permatex ultra copper around the water passages of the intake and china walls only. Oil pan I install dry if it is a 1 pc gasket. I use indian head shellac on the timing cover and fuel pump block off gaskets. I use permatex neverseize on the spark plug threads, o2 sensor threads, exhaust manifold bolts, nuts and pipe connections, valve cover bolts and all steel bolts that go into the upper intake.
Anyone know what locations on the engine are best used with permatex?
intake gaskets - Copper Spray Sealer
heads - NOTHING
oil pan - Copper RTV on the corners only. I also suggest using Felpro gasket.
timing cover - Hi-tack
waterpump - hi-tack
header - would that be too hot? - Way too hot.
