About two months ago I purchased a roof panel from a forum member and it was damaged by UPS. I put in and insurance claim with them and posted a thread. After hearing others experiences with this I didn't have much hope of being paid, however guess what showed up in the mail, a check for $500 from the UPS Store in Texas!!! Just in time for Christmas. I had photos and copies of everything so if you guys ever have to put in a claim on lost or damaged UPS shipments, keep good documentation and follow through... it apparently helps. Happy Holidays.
I'm not surprised. The store may be franchised, but it still carries the UPS name and I'm sure there are certain parameters that must be adhered to in order to maintain their image. Provided of course you have the proper documentation.
Well, I remember the thread, too. And it looked a bit grim after reading all the posts. But I did learn something from Mr. Mojo: solid styro and no/never peanuts. Thank you, Mr. Mojo for that one.
And I'm glad you got compensated Ed. Merry Christmas.

Peanuts are worthless. The good stuff is the soft thick latex type foam.
I guess the UPS store paid out because they packed it? I would expect UPS would pay if the packing is good and they broke it... unless they can bully the small store owner into paying instead.
