Universal key FOB - does it exist?
This is getting stupid We have a Dodge, Ford, and Chevy in my house and a different Key FOB for each car. I have to keep my keys consolidated so that rules out having a different key ring for each vehicle... and my keys would weigh a ton if I had all 3 FOBs on there at one time.
Some genius was smart enough to create a universal TV remote that can act as the command center for the ENTIRE entertainment center... has anyone thought of doing this with key FOBS?
I know that several aftermarket keyless entry units will operate two cars, but I don't know about commanding different oem units with the same remote though, interesting idea.
As interesting as it sounds, there is probably an issue with security. Since you can't open two differnt GM vehicles with the same keyfob, I doubt that it would be possible to go to other OEM's. If it were programmable, you may be able to gain access to multiple vehicles.
I have the same problem with my keys. They consist of the SUV, Van and Corvette keyfobs and keys. I got the "Costanza" (Seinfeld reference) keyset.
Good luck. If you find one, please let us all know.
I was thinking the other day that it would be cool if there was a button on your key fob for the garage door opener. If anyone takes this idea and makes a million bucks....I want my share.

That's what I'm screamin. I'm not an electronics genious or anything, but come one... there has to be some way to accomplish this. And do it without having some kind of giant beeper looking contraption

That's crazy....There's no comparison. All you're doing is strapping rocket fuel to a person's *** and blasting them up into the air...... I mean, come on! it ain't rocket science!
I used a 300 Chrysler the last few days and the fob is the top of the key. I thought that was pretty damn cool. Talk about a fast car for a boat. That hemi is a pretty cool motor.

Well....I am hoping your just bustin my chops and not serious. It takes a little more than "strapping rocket fuel to a person's *** and blasting them up into the air". Sheesh....I guess anyone could go to the moom then. Maybe I will do that tomorrow after I call the President and tell him that NASA is no longer needed.

Well that's what I thought , was in a kroger the other day hit my remote locks (yukon 03) and heard another car horn beep, did it again and sure enough!!! No I didn't try to find the other vehicle I was a little pissed, and thought WTF
UNIVERSAL FOB, there probably is, but I would bet you have to buy some kind of package (remote entry or start)
