the CD in my 95 does'nt play. makes a slight hiss but no music. Everything else works great. Is there an inexpensive fix or should I spent the money and get a remote multidisc changer? If so what whould be a reasonably priced one to get?

Welcome to the club. This is common with this Bose system. I'm sure someone will chime in on where is the best/cheapest place to have it fixed. The only place I know of Mid America Motorworks, but they charge around $250, but I have heard there are places that will do it cheaper.
I can't find the thread but there was one about a month or two ago with a guy asking for references on an outfit that rebuilt them for about $125-$150. I remember that someone posted that they had used them and they did a good job. You might want to search for that post, or maybe someone can help out as it could save you some bucks.
I think the name of the outfit included something like: "24 Hour..."
I don’t know if it will work for you but...I had the same problem. I disconnected the battery for a completely different reason. However after re-connecting the CD player worked fine. Again can’t explain it but it would be worth a try.
Yup, that's the one. But the link posted doesn't work. The one below should. I haven't tried this outfit but from the thread thought I would probably send mine to them when I want my original one fixed. I decided to go aftermarket, but am keeping the old one for sake of having the original. Try this link
Have you tried a couple of different CDs? One of the CDs my kids bought me last Christmas won't work in my 95 it plays fine in every other CD player we own. However, the other CDs I have brought into the car work.
