C4 Ball Joint Greasing
I am down south and my chassis manual is up north, so I can not look it up myself. I did get a look under the car and that is my conclusion
I tried to have car greased and it looks like previous 2 lube/oil/fiter experieces this year ( 1 at a quikie lube and 1 at a genuine Chevy dealer in Tampa) went without their bothering to grease the joints especially the lowers since they are not easy to reach.
The mechanics immediately assume there are no grease fittings at all!
Is it still recommended to remove the unsprung weight off the joints for greasing?.
How do you know somebody actually put grease in the joints?
Also, what kind of life will an average 93 vette get out of the ball joints if greased properly?
Mine has 47,000 1 owner miles.
Thanks for your help, Rich

That is correct; only upper and lower BJ's have zerks.

That's a new one on me, and I've been greasing cars for 40 years.

Either fresh grease on the zerk...even a tiny amount... or a zerk that has been wiped clean, will be the sign.

Mine has nearly 80K miles and the BJ's are still good...

What I meant was lifting the wheels off the ground to get the grease in easily versus tires still on the ground. That is the way I did it with my hand grease gun. That is the what the old style gas stations did.
Merry Christmas,
Merry Christmas everyone
I assume your 93 is the same as my 95. When greasing you will feel the boot swelling, that's when you stop. Shoudn't take more than 2 or 3 pumps.
