How long did it run at that temp? May want to change the oil. Just a thought.

My TA - an L98 went that high, or higher on the 14th st bridge in Wash. DC 4th of July
a few years ago - no issues other than the split sidetanks on the radiator

Coolant Temperature shoots very high
It happens to my C4 periodically still, after i checked almost everything and brought my C4 to a dealer. Now, what i learn is 2 things: First, you need to turn on the AC fan. It really helps to lower the temperature, someone on this forum mentioned to me that C4 has a chip that sets at certain level so at certain speed the fan doesnt turn on (my experience tells me if i drive below 30mph, i do need to turn on the AC fan). Second, check the coolant fluid.
