Default VATS Question

I've already mentioned I need to get the after market dopey alarm out.
Does the VATs trigger the horns, or that festive noise with 3 or 4 changing styles? Not sure which alarm seems to be going off.
My battery is run down and I can't seem to stop the alarm.
Tips?

VATS does not activate any alarms, VATS (vehicle anti theft system) measures the resistance of the pellet in your ignition key and if it is within 5% of the assigned value, VATS then closes the start enable relay allowing the starter motor to crank and VATS also tells the ECM to pulse the injectors (so thieves cannot push start the car). It is the theft deterrent system that cycles the horn when a forced entry is made. If you have an aftermarket alarm (why in heil do people add yet another alarm when a perfectly good one came with the car? I don't get it !), find out where power to it comes from and disconnect the power to it.

I was kinda curious myself. I could see GM integrating it. But Corvettes have had factory alarms long before "VATS", though. My friend's '72 has one.

I see your POV, but aftermarket alarms do offer other features like warning beeps, motion sensors, backup batteries, & pagers which can be usefull in certain situations. + you can be creative with the install making it more difficult to defeat. One cool feature is "pain generators" (cheesy name for a loud siren inside the car), some people don't handle loud noises very well, disrupts their concentration.

Thanks.
The after market alarm will be out soon. Another thread covered that.
I guess the orig owner was taken by 80's things. Another thing coming out is the giant 80's cell phone holder on the passenger side!
Woof.
