Default too much forward rake?

I'm already making a budget for next years mods which include a c5 brake upgrade and a set of 18/19 rims but itstough finding matching tires. I understand that there has to be forward rake for the car to handle properly but will these tires look funny on the car?

285/30/18 =25x11.2x18 (3.5" tread rim to curb)
295/35/19 =27x11.6x19 (4" tread rim to curb)

Then add a rear lowering kit to bring the forward pitch back to close to stock?

Just keep the overall tire height close to what came from the factory, and you'll be alright. Doesn't matter if you have 16, 17, 18, or 19 inch wheels as long as the overall tire height is correct.

Have you used that tire size calculator I saw a few weeks back from Hib Halvorson? Could be helpful.

you probably wouldn't notice the half inch, what width are the rims you are putting on?

Here is a formula that might make it easier for some people. I got this out of magazine a few years ago.

Formula for Calculating Tire Diameter:

((2 x Tire Size x Aspect Ratio) / 2540) + Rim Diameter

Example: 285/30 R18 = 24.732 Inches
((2 x 285 x 30) / 2540) + 18 = 24.732 Inches

Example: 295/35 R19 = 27.129 Inches
((2 x 295 x 35) / 2540) + 19 = 27.129 Inches

For comparison, the stock rear tires on my 1996:
((2 x 285 x 40) / 2540) + 17 = 25.976 Inches

So, I would think the difference between the front and rear of the tires you are looking at are too far apart. I think you would want to keep the overall diameter of the front and rear tires as close as possible.

I believe the front rake you are referring too, is in the way the suspension is setup not in tire size.
Just my opinion.

I've spent hours trying to find a good tire combo on a 18/19 wheel and no luck. I guess 18's all around is the best bet. I'm looking into 18x10 front and 18x11 rear with now

Kuhmo ECSTA MX 275/35/18 front = 25.6
Kuhmo ECSTA MX 295/35/18 rear = 26.1

I curently have 18x19 combo on my car, the front wheel is close to factory and the rear is about 1 in. taller, which is something like 2% more circumference. I have no problems with handling, course I haven't been on a track, but on the street it's handled everything. If you're going to go with a 11 rear wheel I would suggest a wider tire, I have a 305 on mine and it seems a little tight. Go onto TireRack.com and look around at the tires you like, they have under specs all the information you could want about each tire and other sizes of that tire, or go to the wheel and tire section of the forum and look for either luke@tirerack, or Admiral94, both knowledgable, and very helpful.

BTW, if you have a 18 on front with a tire the same diameter as a 19 rim, the front tire will look bigger.
