why does everyone hate the C4?

I actually let a good friend of mine drive my C4 and her exact words were "This is better than sex" - and yeah I know some of yall jaws dropped when you read that I let a gf get behind the wheel of my car, but it was worth it afterwards 
I have heard some people try to give me crap about my car, and some who I tell I drive a vette and when they find out its not at least a C5 or newer they dont really consider it a vette. However, it is always the ignorant and is always followed with incredibly foolish comments of how their _____ (POS car here) could beat me.
