Could the brake fluid boil that high up in the system?? It looks melted or coroded. Maybe the plastic just broke down from the corosive brake flued. That's probably more like it.

How the hell do you spell coroded
:mad :mad Where is the damn spell checker in this new software :mad :mad

I have never seen anything like this before, it is diseased!
I thought brake fluid usually boiled in the calipers not at the master.:confused:
I would also think the o-ring seals in the ABS and master would go before a plastic reservour.
I never had any brake loss. It does feel better with the new fluid a tiny bit higher pedal.

No that you brought all the seals and ABS up. I'd be kind of curious what condition they are in. Seeing how these are your brakes and all....

Car has low miles and the caliper seals look fine and the master is working great. So I seriously doubt the brake fluid boiled. I think the plastic reservour was defective and is deteriorating, maybe layers or air bubles were in the plastic that should not be there. I plan to order 2 new reservours $4 and seals $5 and replace both, even though the front one is fine.

How do I change the reservour, anyone done it? I tried to twist it off then but it was stubborn so I left it on. :chevy:
