Default TX front plate . Aaaak!

Just got a warning for no front plate So , since it's small town TX I'm gonna go ahead and put it on . . Gotta get a clear cover cuz I know this is gonna screw up my aerodynamics. Probably cost me 5 mpg too!! Glad I found a deal on the Corsa system so the rear looks good cause this front plate was not meant to go there

Right you are. Twas not meant to be there. If it were a big city I'd say just leave it off since you only got a warning, but small town = big knowledge of who has a Vette!

You'll love your Corsa.

It's too bad that they only want it there as a target for their radar/laser guns... Otherwise, plopping one up on the dash before heading out for a drive would be fine.

Luckily, I live in a big city in Texas. I have had no plate on my car for the 4+ years that I've owned it. I have the Corsa system on my car and love it. I'm sure you will too!

Yep, if I weren't living here I would probably leave it off. The DPS was really looking today. I got pulled over about 1/2 mile f/ the house and they checked the window tint and then gave the warning for the frnt plate. My bro/law got pulled over by the same and got a tikt for his tint and something else in his Dodge dually. Guess they'll really be hot tonight.

Why doesn't the Tx DPS do something contructive......like maybe cleaning the toilet stalls at the road rests for example....instead of busting our ***** for no front plates?

The city PD here doesn't seem to give a damn one way or the other if you have front plates. I did get popped once for an expired TSI sticker though.....I should have slipped him a Krispy Kreme coupon with my license....

Here in Midland, TX (100k).... the LEO's will pull you over in a heartbeat for no front plate.

Now, New Mexico for example.... no annual inspection, front tags, or smog test....

Better check you new laws. Texas did a way with the front plate requirement Sept. 1 ,2005. Wo Ho! Have not had one on my 85 anyway, but the local speedtrap here at Lakeway can't f*** with me now. So tell your local yokal to get a copy or you'll get a lawyer.

I was told by the lisence office/tax office that they are still required.....They were informed that the law was not passed.......Every time it comes up law-enforcement fights it and wins.........
Have a Great Day!!!!!!!!

In cali they are mandatory, and I got a fix-it for it. I put it on with some nice SS screws just to get the ticket signed off, but it actually looked better afterwards IMO so I left it. The little pop out plate that says "CORVETTE" just isn't cool enough to matter for me.

I remember reading that a while back and got all excited and bought a cover on ebay. Then a cop buddy of mine told me it didn't pass so here it still sits in my study un-used.
