Default Ordering new seats

I'm ordering new seats, but do they come with the driver side powered mechanism underneath? Or is that seperate?

Has anyone restored their powered seat?

Did you order the entire seat or just the cushions?

Haven't ordered yet, but I might just want to get the vinyl covering.. which would probably mean I'd have to buy the powered mech for the driver seperately.. yet I don't know how to replace that thing.

If your just looking to replace the seat cushions or covering of the cushions, then you will only remove that portion of the seat. The remaining seat track, power mechanism and seat backing will remain in the vehicle and does not have to be removed.

The bottom cushion is very simple. You push down at the center and unhook a metal clip that is holding the cushion in position. The seat back is a little more difficult.

Try to search this and the technical forum for "seats" and you will get some good advice.

Good luck,
Dino

Don't know if you've got standard or sport seats, but Vette Magazine ran a three-part series on early sport seat restoration last summer...might be some good info in here for your project. These links to the article are from MidAmerica's website...good luck!
