i want new rims for my car, chrome, i was told if i redipped(since my chrome rims currently are chipping) my rims, it will come off faster then just having a new set or chrome rims!
any suggestions for some REPLICA wheels, unless the authetnics i can get them under 1000 bucks...
i tried ebay...but trying to see if anybody has anything better?....
BUUTTTT.....one problem, its for my c4! these are mostly c6's...i dont think they would fit my car!
I am not an expert, so you could contact them and ask if a particular style you like would work for your car (lug pattern, offset, etc, etc). Tomzwheels is a Corvette Forum supporting vendor and I believe a lot of people have been satisfied going through them....I have not used them....yet
Ebays where I got mine, 4 wheels and tires for $1100. Just make sure to check their feedback etc. There are 2 companys that I think alot of us went through and had no problem with either of them. Good luck
Contact Tom or Katrina (thats right) or Pete at TomZwheels. Tell them what you want and they will send you pics of what they have for your car. Are they fast? On the Monday before Christmas I ordered a set of wheels, they got here Thursday. I couldn't ask for more. Oh yes,the price was right.
I just saw a set of stock wheels that a local shop had polished, and they looked great. The guy does everything including installation for around $600. The thing I liked was the fact that he can repair a polished rim without a complete redo like you would with chrome. The question is, how high is the maintenance on polished aluminum rims?
the chrome Z06 replica wheels that Tomzwheels has are NICE - and the factory sizes that the Z06 wheels are. the Z06 wheels look nice on the C4s - i have a set of factory's i will be putting on in the next few weeks.
The question is, how high is the maintenance on polished aluminum rims?
VERY HIGH. You'll need to get out the aluminum polish and a set of rags at least twice a year. You have to wash them with a good aluminum cleaner every week or they oxidize very fast. I love the aluminum wheels on my truck...but I wouldn't do it again.
I bought the polished rims from oe wheel dist on ebay for about $500 for the set and they stay clean and clean easier than stock and I haven't polished them in 6 months and they still look great! My car is my daily driver and I put about 8k mi per year on it mostly city. I use car wash with the brush to clean them as some of the wheel cleaners will etch the aluminum and require re-polishing.
