I have been fiddling with the car in the 40 deg temps since last week and got most of my winter list done already I thought I'd share a couple of little things
The cable for the hood latch as it crosses above the engine is a possible source of noise. If you touch or wiggle it and it taps against the firewall you will see what I mean.I solved this possible noise by slitting a piece of vacuum line and encasing the cable between the two clips that hold it.
For those of us with ASR and TV cable the tranny cable can do the same a little piece of hose on it where the 2 cables cross quiets it down and it looks good too
I have not had a chance to drive it to see if it eliminated any of those little noises but I feel better that I have elminated the potential.

Did both to mine too except I used gas line. I also use a plastic wire tie on the one open connector on the ASR so it can't rattle.
Now my major structural rattle I've had for five years I just solved by adjusting the hood stop on the passenger side. I was just about to tear the entire instrument panel out looking for that rattle and got lucky on a read in the FSM and a post here. I'm still all giddy that I finally solved that nasty one. I couldn't believe such minor play would generate such horrible noises.

I had to do the same thing.I don't get it because now the feature line does not line up right on that side.I even changed the rubber bumper. If it is adjusted so the feature line is right it rattles.Go figure.....
Ok I had to go look before returned back to work from lunch. Your talking about the flare of the hood point edge where it should be a smooth transisition to the door?
I don't know what the passenger side looked like before but now both sides are identical where it's probably an 1/8" higher on the hood then the door. But honestly I'll take that over that nasty nasty rattle.
