Default Future owner questions

So I posted this in the For Sale area, and eventually it hit me that it probably wasn't the best place, so here it is.

Looking to purchase a C4 in the next few months, and have 2 newbie questions:

1. How reasonable to find a 92-96 M6 in the Chicago area for 10-12K? Definitely wanna have the LT-1.

2. Any golfers out there? Can you throw your sticks in the back for a day on the course? Would a fold up pull cart make also?

Thanks for all the help I've already gotten so far. I've been lurking a long time, and I'm finally getting ready to come back into the BowTie fold. All I need now is someone to buy my Mustang and we're in business!!!!

Reasonable. You can probably find a nice '92 for $12K. The closer you get to '96, the worse shape or higher the mileage the car will be for that money. You would have to be exceptionally lucky to find a really good six-speed for $10K....not that it can't be done, just don't expect the first on you look at to be 'the one'.
As far as golf clubs go, they will probably fit in the passenger seat without a problem. In the cargo area? Maybe, if the bag sticks between the seats. If you MUST transport a golf bag, maybe you can find a vert with the luggage rack on the rear deck...now, that would be cool.

Don't limit yourself to just looking in the Chicago area. I'm not familiar with the market there, but generally prices near the larger cities are inflated.

As you're giving yourself a couple of months, look around. If you take your time you'll find what you're looking for at a good price. The savings may easily offset the cost of traveling to pick up or have shipped a nice, out of town, C4.

I have easily fit two golf bags in mine before, although they don't lie flat. Just take out the long woods and rest them on top.

A '96 M6 will be an LT4 instead of LT1 motor. Read up on it and you will find it acceptable, I'm sure.

Good luck!

And here's proof!

But if you want a Vert I agree with Larry -- your sticks will ride shotgun or you'll need a luggage rack!

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you. It helps when you post things in the proper forum, too. By the way, the pic with the clubs in the hatch were perfect! Thanks again...

I agree somewhat with CaptR but maybe not for the same reasons. I don't know if the prices are higher in metro areas; maybe. But limiting yourself to Chic. metro, while a very big city with lots of towns and suburbs, is still a limitation. Have you started already with cars.c and autotrader?

The largest item I've gotten in the hatch area is a 6500 Watt Portable Craftsman Gas powered generator (240lbs). It just fit with an inch on all side. I'm sure golf clubs would fit LOL.
