Can anyone help me figure out what needs fixxing?. I put new (used) wiper transmission arms on my 89 coupe, i adjusted them as per the haynes manual, when stopped at the top of stroke, they were 40mm from edge of window on drivers side, and 50 on passenger side, (haynes says 0-40 and 0-50 respectively)
however, when they park, they are trying to go way down below the stop, so much so that the wiper arms are actually bending slightly, and when they are switched on, with the windshield wet, wipers on full speed, they fly way past the windshield,
any ideas anyone?? btw the wiperblades are 19 inches
When I put my wiper motor in, I adjusted the wipers so they parked correctly. I cycled the mechanism once without the wipers on, and shut it off. Then I put the wipers on in the parked position. It took just a little more adjusting after that to get them to stop hitting the windshield pillars.
