I just bought my first vette. 96 LT1. and every once in a while when i try to roll down the windows the seals at the bottom gets cought up and it won't allow the window to go down. The seals look perfect and i didn't know if there was a way to loosen the seal just a bit. Or some sort or lube that won't put marks on my window. Anything so that i can roll down the window without getting out and usuing my knife to fix the problem.
DO NOT lube your windows. It will ruin the front stop.Only way to lube them is internally with grease in the few spots that need it.You can lube the weather stripping with Di-Electric grease ont the outside edges of the window area, then wipe it off. There are two adjusters under the door pannel that push the window against the outer window wipes you can try loosening them.
Sounds like it might need a small adjustment to release the pressure off the wipe seal. Which window is it driver's or passenger?
After removing the door panel, you would have access to the forward and middle adjustments. If after any minor adjustments you cannot alleviate the binding, then you may want to remove the accessory mounting panel and examine the window guide stop. They are made of plastic and seem to break easily. If the window is not tracking the guide bar via the guide stop you can get all kinds of crazy issues. One of the more notable one's is the window shifting way aft hitting the B pillar as it closes. Causes nasty dings in the B pillar.
It is the passenger door. but when i bought the car the driver door panal is lose which might be because it did the same thing and he didn't know how to fix it right.
I will look for the adjustments and if it is tracking right.
