Default Interior carpet question

When I buy new carpet, what about the carpet on the middle console and the knee-banger on the driver side? Are those pieces included in the 'front carpet' kits available from the magazines? If not then where do I get them?
I want to replace all carpet pieces and interior trim and all when I do the inside to get rid of the old smell

Yes. Every piece of carpet is typically in the kits.

I just bought mine from: http://www.1aautomotive.com/

The carpets that comes from their supplier are denser carpeting
than what was in early C4's. It looks better, and they say resists
fading more.

Yes they are included, the problem you will find is getting the pass side knee carpet off. There are two bolts way up inside under the hush pad.

I removed the carpeting from my passenger side yesterday, without removing the trim panel (you can see that in my pictures at the link below). I'm going to try to put the new carpeting on without taking the panel off. Others here have said they've done it. Just have to push the front of the carpeting up under the dash trim, then glue it onto the rest of the panel.

Got up into my '86's dash yesterday. Yes, my '86 Parts & Illus manual shows exactly what your image above shows. But that's not what I saw when I got in there. I didn't see either of those 2 screws. But that panel is held SOLID. Even if there were 2 screws like that in the top, it wouldn't be held that solid. The carpet panel on the driver's side has 2 13mm bolts going into the dash frame. That one is held on solid because of those bolts. They have 2 holes in the cushioning of the carpet panel which are exposed when you remove the plastic cover above the pedals.

The right side panel has no such holes. However, I looked down from the top with a flashlight (my top dash pad is off, and I removed the top 2 screws from the 'bread box' and bent it outwards. I see 4 13mm nuts on bolts that appear to come in from the carpet panel. That would certainly explain why it's on there solidly. That certainly doesn't match the P&I diagram.

Jon: Have you actually removed the passenger carpet panel, and was it only those two screws as shown in the diagram? If so, what year is your car?

BTW, it didn't seem at all easy to get to those 4 nuts. So I went back to gluing the carpet onto the panel with the panel in place. I got it on, even tucked up into the plastic ridge, with little problem. Sprayed trim adhesive on. But later in the day the carpet had fallen off (it was very hot here, and inside the car was worse). The original carpet was held on with staples as well as adhesive. So I'm going to clean as much adhesive off the plastic, epoxy on Velcro to the plastic and the back of the carpet, and try that.

Whatever you do, DON'T buy from John's Corvette Care...they do not support their customers when they do something wrong!

I'm an unfortunate unhappy customer :mad

I bit the bullet and removed the passenger-side carpeted knee panel. Here's how I did it (which gets you most of the way to removing the Bread Box, and getting to the heater core as well):
