Default Hard top price

C4 Folk:
Jumped over to the c4 section to ask for some advice. I'm helping a deceased friends wife liquidate items she has no use for. She has a hard top from a 1990 convertable (no car just the top) that she wants me to sell for her. I have an interested party but no idea what the top is worth. It has was only on the car for a short time. My friend thought he would keep it untill he bought another vette. That never happened. Please let me know the high and low price for this. Thanks Ben

Default Re: Hard top price (BENSC5)

I paid $800 for my hardtop last fall but the person just wanted it out of his garage. I paid $420 to get it painted to match. I've seen really good quality tops in swap meets for around $1000 and up.

I think the asking price would be based on the overall condition especially the weatherstripping. Does the lady have all the accessories that came with the top? There is a small ratchet with a #40 torx bit, a small box wrench, the brackets and the 10 bolts and the deck lid cover (all these items are still in the parts book).

You might also check on e-bay to see if any tops are currently being sold to find a price.

C4 Cruiser and 96LT4
Thanks very much for the reply. Looks like I have to hunt down the rest of the package. At least I have a starting place for negotiation. Thanks again Ben :blueangel:
