Default Door panels

Can anyone tell me will an 88 door panel interchange with a 91? If not why?

no.

I mean, they will fit the door... but the door won't close. the door panels are fitted to the dash board... and the dash is so very different from the 1988.

I made my own two tone panels for my red 88 coupe. Had a saddle interior and switched it over to black and red. Put in black carpet with red leather seats. Took my new red door panels and exchanged the red carpet for black. Have received a lot of compliments on it. Don't know why the suppliers don't sell that configuration. They are all stuck on one color only.
