Replacing Timing Gears
Hello and thanks to everyone.I took your advise and since i had to change the water pump i changed the chain 98,000 it was getting
pretty loose,also had to change the harmonic balancer,it had slipped
back almost touching the timing cover,what do you suppose could have
caused that?Well,eveyone was right,getting that balancer off was a
real pita!!!
I opted not to change the pan gasket and front pan gasket seal yet,i don't have ramps built ,but i will soon.I just took a razor blade,cut the
front pan seal on each side,cleaned everything real good slatherd the pan,timing cover,and the seal i cut free with rtv crammed her in and
bolted her down.It's only temporary,and it dosn't seem to be leaking.
It's amazing how much better an engine performs with a new gear set.
Anyone have any ideas how to build a portable ramp system of some
kind that is light enough to carry,but safe enough to hold the car?
