Heres an interesting story I just read. A man had his 1968 vette stolen from him 2 months after purchasing it . It was stolen in 1969 while living in New york city. He is now living in California where 2 New York detectives tracked him down to tell him they had recovered his stolen car from 37 years ago. Someone had sold it to a person in Sweden. A custom inspector notiiced that it was a reportedly stolen car by the vin. To make this more unusual, apparently no one had ever registered the car in the last 37 years. The original owner plans on keeping the car. It is in good shaoe , but has had an engine change and is minus a transmission. Pretty neat story, huh ?
I read that... I thought it was rather sad that he lost his abiltiy to love a thing after that... to have passion ripped from you due to the cruelty of others. how depressing.
This is pure conjecture on my part, but I don't think those two detectives would have spent three days going through 10,000 stolen car reports if this stolen car had been a Ford Maverick. -- Eric
