what about the ZL1? I thought that went for well over $600-large.

And the Pontiac Bonneville Special at $2.8m? The Futureliner at $4m? Damn.

The Hemi Cuda vert? $1.1m? I swear.... that's nuts money.

no no no, the ZL1 actually was in a few Camaro's too. ZL1 just denotes a Aluminum 427cid Chevy Big Block, I THINK 11½:1 Compression, Solid Cam, and 560bhp...
IIRC, they made TWO Corvette's with them, in 69'. One as a "drag racer" with 4.88 gears, and one as a "road racer" with 3.55 gears...They "lost" one though...wish I could "find" the other...
EDIT: I was close...
The ZL-1 featured thicker walls and main webbing, along with dry sump lubricating provisions. The bottom end was four-bolt, with a forged steel crank and rods with 7/16 inch bolts, Spiralock washers and full floating pins. Pistons were even higher domed than the L88s, yielding a compression ratio of 12.5:1. Cylinder heads were also aluminum and featured open combustion chambers and round exhaust ports and 2.19 inch/1.88 inch valves, a configuration adopted by the L88 in mid-1969. The aluminum dual plane intake was topped by a 850 cfm Holley four-barrel (double pumper) carburetor featuring mechanical secondaries. The ZL1's solid lifter camshaft was radical, so the engine could live in the upper revs.

The buy it now is $100,000.00 NOT 1,000,000.00!

I think last time one of the only 2 ZL1's sold it went for 4 million something. The other one got bought for next to nothing (compared to that) in a govt seizure auction.

obviously being rich doesn't equate to being smart. rich idiots and their money justs make me shake my head. some nitwit paid all that money to have it sit around the garage.

when they sold a 1967 corvette for some outrageous price, the announcers said, "well that not a car to drive, it is a car to just park in the garage."

not to get off this soapbox, but i have the chance to buy 2 super bowl tickets for 800.00 each... you telling me there are 70,000 idiots that would pay that much?

everything that was fun and for the regular guy years ago, are all just rich men sports. like this collector car business. i would love to have a 68 gto ragtop like i had as a teenager. for a mere 40k i can have one!!!

the more money these folks have, the stupider they are.
