Burping cooling system

Default Burping cooling system

89 Vette, 48,000 miles , replaced starter side freeze plug last week, aded coolant to raditator, drive it, add coolant light comes on , done this about three times now goes on and off, have checked again this morning (cold engine) raditator full, noticed in one of the mauals about 92 and previous about burping the system with bleeder valves near the throttle body, did not see anything like this?

I believe the LT1 cars have them, never seen one on an L98.

Yea, L98's require burping and reburping till you get it right.
Jack the front end up, open rad cap, start engine, let it warm up to op temp and term opens up, then have coolant mix ready, using the throttle linkage, rev and hold @ 2000 rpm's, you'll notice the level goes down, add coolant till up to neck level, hold the throttle @ 2k for a while to see if it goes back down, if so, add again, when finally you have to add no more, while still at 2k put the cap back on.
It took me 3 times before i finally got it burped completely. Then take it out for a drive and redo the process if necessary.
You might also check the rad cap, i finally had to get a new one.

My thoughts exactly after doing the same thing...it takes a while to get all the air out.

L98s don't have bleed valves. Do the procedure that Vinnie said. It's called "packing". Works great.
