Are these considered street legal. Louder or quiter than flowmaster?
Thinking about them for my '95 (just replacing mufflers, leaving rest of system factory). Any thoughts out there?
If you are just doing the mufflers I recommend going w/ the Magnaflows...part# 15623. It is just the mufflers w/ some pipe attached to make the connection to the stock pipe after the resonator. You can get these from www.performancepeddler.com for less than $350 shipped but you must call them.
Here's a sound clip of mine before I added the headers...
I put the MagnaFlow Ultra Stainless Steel Mufflers on my 87. They sound really good, are street legal. I do get resonance at midrange RPM's but I am having the Crossover Pipe installed next week...supposed to eliminate the resonance. But all in all....I am very happy with the sound, quality & looks. The Tips are nice...sort of an elongated oval...polished stainless. I got the best price thru MIDAmerica. Most other suppliers couldnt come close .

The clip sounds great, your car looks great as well. I had Flowmasters on my 88 and the resonance was loud. Do you have that problem with the Magnaflows
i have true duals with dynomax ultra flow ss mufflers on my 85, it has a cam, ported heads and much more it sounds very mean, it also has a very distinct tone, sounds different than everything else, and they are loud. but a good loud.

That is a real good sound, about what I am looking for. Thanks for the clip!
Here's my problem: I need a schematic that shows the different pieces and terminology for the exhaust system. I've seen a lot of suggestions on here that sound good (no pun intended) but I can't correlate the suggestion with the mechanics.
The dynomax mufflers are the ones I'm looking at from Summit Racing I want to keep the stock look but with an increase in sound. I think I'm sold on them now. I've heard they have a very simliar build to the magnaflows but without the cost.

Thx
Resonance was minimal w/ the mufflers alone and hasn't changed much w/ the headers...just louder & beefier!
I have Ultra Flow Welded Mufflers on my 89.. they are 3" in/out Single inlet/outlet. I have thought of switching to the magnaflow but I think the dual outlet mufflers make resonance worse.
