And Zip doesnt even carry the sawblades.
What to do?
I had a freind of mine that got that done and the chrome peeled off after a year or so. I would not do it.I dont think any shop can compete with the way the factory dips the rims. They have millions of $s worth of machines that clean the metal and treat the chrome. I see a special on that a long time ago. I think it was on discovery channel,I dont remember.
If everything goes right this week my sawblades will get powdercoated (chrome finish). I have already soda blasted them and just waiting on powder to come in.
There are specifics steps in chrome plating and if one isn't done just right then the finish won't last. Our local car club has sent off bumpers and such for chrome plating to a place in the Dallas area. I'll ask the pres tomorrow and see what he says and post back here.
