I need to put new front rotors on my 95. I found high performance slotted and drilled napa rotors for $91 each. Are napa parts any good. Just wondering what other think about them.

Thanks
Tony

they seem like a pretty decent product.... i wonder what they weigh though??? some people also say that the cross drilled rotors are bad for street use, because of small heat cracks coming from the holes. but i have found that quality rotors have their holes champhered to reduse the risk of this "heat checking". id like to see them in person to see if the holes are champhered or not. the slots should be fine though
my boss owns 3 napa stores so i get their parts at cost... i wonder what my price would be???

NAPA has good rotors. My opinion on cross drilled rotors is that are purely for looks and don't really serve any performance purpose with today's brake pads... They are prone to cracking unless you can find some that are cast with holes in them like Porsche rotors are. Don't think any one makes them though.

Another good source for rotors that I use is Carbotech, especially when they have combo packages for pads & rotors on sale. They nearly give the rotors away...

Try the Bosch CERAMIC pads when you do the brakes. No more brake dust on your rims and stop great. Personally don't like drilled rotors for my daily driver. Extra $$ and extra chance of cracking==more $$ for no gain in performance for my street machine. Enjoy the Ride

Are they zinc coated? If not, ... rust city!

check the Forums pull dowm menu and go to Corvette General/Autocrossing, Track. I think I read in there that the serious track guys go through rotors frequently and use the NAPA plain rotors with excellent braking results. No use talking yourself into dropping bucks unless you don't care or drive fast and just want "Bling".

A little bit of caliper/rotor paint before installation takes care of that. I had great service out of zinc plated, drilled and slotted rotors from irotors.com. The Napa ones should be of good quality too. My C5 front rotors I got from Superior Chevy. They also have them for the C4 brakes very reasonably. They are GM Duralast but are not zinc coated so be sure to paint them before installation.

I have a set of cross drilled rotors on my fullsize chevy ext cab and have had great results with them with no cracking. I've had them for over three years and I drive it real hard. Got them from Summit racing. When I have to replace the ones on the vette, I'll be heading back to summit!
