Default 1993 Wheel Emblems

Just purchased a 1993 Anniversary edition in Ruby Red. The seats and the car is badged with the 40th logo. However, the center wheel caps/emblems are missing. Did this special edition have a center wheel cap that also had the 40th logo on them. Or were they just regular C4 caps? Also, this car was manufactured on Jan 27, 1993. Does this make it an early/first version car or a late/second version model? Hard to get parts b/c they ask if it's an early or late model. Thanks to all.

Congratulations on your purchase. I've had my Ruby since last August, they're beautiful cars. Don't forget to post some pics and give us some specs. The Ruby came with regular centercaps with the flags but they were Ruby colored also. You can get them at Mid America Motorworks here is the link right to the centercap page. http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=3.298.999 you want part# 606-707. I don't know if that price is each, for a pair, or for a set you'll have to call and ask. My guess is it's for one so they aren't cheap. But then again nothings cheap for Vettes.
As far as the early/first version or late/second version I can't help you there. I believe mine was made in April but i'v enever run into the problem of anyone asking me that question.

I have a 93 Ruby also, my Serpentine belt is ribbed on both sides and mine is an early model. Sometime in 93 Chevy changed the belt to only one side having the ribs, these are teh late model 93's.
I don't know about any other mid year changes, but Im sure there could be others?

Hey thanks. I have most vette catalogs but misplaced this one. You are right as I still have just two emblems on two wheels and they are colored ruby red. So I guess I really just need two. Thanks for the info. I'll order them right up. I think I got my answer in the second post to my question regarding early/late year versions. This is my 4th vette and I will always own a vette. Nothing compares!

I think my belt is ribbed one side only. Just need to take a good look. This helped me a lot. I would guess by your answer mine might be considered a late or second design/version. It's a great car and I can't wait for spring to start driving her again. Good information, thanks.

I paid $80 for 2 center caps for my 40th and I had my seat fixed for $120. It looks brand new. As for the belt, mine is 2 sided...

Be careful with the new Ruby caps too. 1 of my 4 is missing what I think to be a plastic clear coat, and through wear and washing its fading away.

I received a new replacement Ruby cap this Christmas, but I haven't put it on yet. I'm assuming I'd need to remove the wheel to get at the rim from the back side to do so? If you are just covering the empty holes, it might be possible without removing the wheel.

Welcome to the Ruby family.

Perfect timing on your post. I was about to post on the same topic. Below is what the 40th caps look like. I'm also looking for new 40th caps. Does anyone know of a good source to get these? I've seen a couple of places, but the price is in the $40-50 dollar range for each. $200 for a set of these plastic caps seems pretty high to me.

Here is another way to tell if your car is considered an "early" '93 or a "late" '93.......get on your back under the rear fascia of the car. What do you see?

If you see a foam-like material, then consider your car an "early" version. If you see a honeycomb-like material, then consider your car a "late" version. Not too many people are aware that GM went with a different material back there in the later cars.

That said, my Ruby was built in Nov. '92 and I have the foam material under the rear fascia. Hope that helps.

It should be ribbed on both sides. My car was built 2 days after yours and mine is ribbed on both sides.
