Default carburetor vs fuel injection

I was wondering what the forum thinks about pulling the fuel injected crap off the car and building an old time carburetor engine? I was just thinking a crate engine might be the ticket for cheaper power and less problems with all the computer stuff. What problems would one encounter and is it the smart thing to do?

Do a search and you'll see a bunch of threads about this. Most guys in the forum advise not to do it. I did, however convert my '86 coupe and have no regrets.

I converted my 1986 and love it. It's a lot of work though and you may have trouble passing emissions. I'm not trying to discourage you but I urge you to do your homework before undertaking this project. There are many pros to doing it but there are some legit cons as well. If you decide to go ahead, I'll be happy to share what I've learned. My motor:

edit: you can rebuild your own motor, maintain the original numbers, achieve more horsepower, for less money than if you bought a crate motor.
