I recently ran over a dead deer and broke off the black box with circuit boards and a wire with the thickness of an antenna wire. The box is located under the center of the front bumper. Does anyone know what the box controls?
PETA installs these devices wherever deer are located. They are now coming for you.
If your car has the C68 Electronic Climate Control, it might be the outside temperature sensor. It is attached to the right (passenger) side of the lower radiator suport and can be seen if you look up under the front of the car at the lower left of the A/C condensor. It's protected by a black metal shield but hitting the deer may have taken the whole thing out.
My 92 didn't have any other sort of electronic components in the front.
Just as an afterthought, but does the car have any sort of an aftermarket alarm on it?? Do you have LoJack??
