I have heard that the '88 has a cold start injector. However, I am not sure that mine has one. It was to my belief that a cold start injector was a 9th fuel injector, attached to the fuel rail? I only have 8 injectors on the rail.
Am I right or is the injector somewhere/something else?
So what exactly is the benefit of having this cold start injector?
It's like having a choke on a carbureted car. I'm sure someone could explain exactly how it works. Unless I have my factory service manual in hand I'm not going to attempt it. There are the techno geek wizards on this forum that have broken many keyboards banging and pounding on the keys because they cannot type fast enough to keep up with their frustration due to lack of techincal understanding of the less fortunate. It's very entertaining though. I wonder if the spelling and grammer czars are cringing in their seats reading this post? Hmmm, I love this place.

Derek, this thing actually only operates when the engine temp is below 95 degrees, and the colder it gets below that determines the on time for it, between 1 and 8 seconds. It's powered by the theft fuse behind the center stack info center.
