My car is leaking a slight bit of oil. Nothing to be a great concern, but I would like to fix the problem. Where do the L-98s typically tend to leak? The car has 72000 miles on it. I took a look the other day, and I didnt see much. This might have to do with the -3 weather conditions in the winter. But it was leaking when I put the car away for the snooze.

Do you use synthetic oil?
and the L98s are known for leaking oil around the intake manifold my coupe does not I just rebuilt it but the roadster has a small oil leak it seems to be comming from that area but it had synthetic oil in it so I drained it and put regular 10-30W in just before I put the car away for the winter so I have my fingers crossed that does it or I will be pulling the intake manifold and resealing it
First off make sure it's motor oil; if so:
-Front/rear of intake base & intake base bolts
-oil filter, oil pan
-rear seal
-valve cover gaskets
-oil pressure sensors on the stalk behind intake base
-oil temp. sensor near oil filter

I do use synthetic oil. Do you think changing to conventional will really help?

Years ago on my exwife's 78 olds I put synthetic oil in it and it started leaving oil drips here and there so I put the standard oil back in the next oil change and it quit leaving its oil on the ground
So I am hoping my roadster does the same
I have been told synthetic oil is thinner than regular oil and it finds its way around and through cork gaskets
I run synthetic in my coupe and I have no problems with leaks but it has mostly all rubber gaskets
That is a complete myth about synthetic oil. I run synthetic in all of my cars. 96 Vette, 68 GTO, 70 GTO, etc, and synthetics do not cause leaks nor do they seem to seep through gaskets. I would not change from synthetic back to dino oil, there are too many positives for using synthetic.

YES, those are the biggies. If you have an oil cooler , the "O" ring between the cooler and filter housing is another.
If everything is sealed correctly and you use good silicones/gaskets (right stuff etc.) I don't beleive in the synthetic oil as causes for leaks. MO
