On the inside of the driver's side front fender between the wheel well and the driving lights there should be a date scratched into the fiberglass. This was done as one of the last steps on the production line at Bowling Green.
It may be faint and hard to read, but shining a light on it at different angles sometimes helps visibility.
The format is "MM-DD-YYYY" or sometimes "MM-DD-YY".
Mine reads: 03-27-1990.
Now that is a little bit of C-4 Corvette trivia that apparently few know about!

Now I'm curious. I'll have to check my 96 this weekend.
Where would I find the build date on my 91 coupe? My 81 has a julian date on the trim tag on drivers side pillar. Does the c4 have similar info?
Not an answer to your question but I had an experience today with dates on my '96 CE.
Low mileage, new to me 2 months and I was suspecting the tires were original equipment. When I couldn't find the DOT number on the outboard of the tires, I took it to a local tire dealer. He checked the inboard, found the DOT numbers.
The tires were manufactured weeks 16, 19, 20 and 22 of '96.
I found a date in my 1984 when pulling the carpeting out of the passenger side on the floor forward under the dash written in what looked like a black sharpie type ink. I have no idea why it is there but it had the actual date something like XX XX 1983 date. Probably not how you want to find it but it caught my attention when I found it.

I purchased a build sheet from the Corvette Museum and at the top it has both the time and the date.
Mine was build on January 29, 1993 @ 2:58:53pm.
This just so happens to be the day Gordon Killebrew retired.
