First I couldn't Get BFG KD's because noone could locate a right rear tire.
Now I cant get Goodyear SC's because the fronts are all on back order.
I have factory Z06 wheels on my 96, and want a performance tire. I personally think Goodyear tires would be best for it, but they aren't available.
My local dealer here said he can get Toyo R 1's in the sizes I need, but I know nothing about them. I can get Khumos as well, but I have them now and am looking for something that might be better.
I can either get those, or wait to see if Goodyear or BFGoodrich will make tires again.
They said at the end of the year, the tire manufactures cease production and retool for the next year. So I have no idea when the SC's will be available or if BFG will make KD's or KDW NT's in the size I need.
If possible I want to buy American, but I guess this means waiting.
Does anyone have any ideas or places I can order tires other than Tire Rack, Discount tire Direct, Sears, Raffield Tire master etc.

Which Kumhos do you have now? If you don't have the MXs, you might like those. Have you used the Tirerack's good information base to compare different tires you may not know as much about? It's pretty damn handy. Good luck.
BTW, I also have the ZO6 wheels and those rear 18s limit choices somewhat compared to the 17 x 9.5 wheels that came on the rear of our cars. So I feel your pain! But damn, the 18s look awfully good out back, don't they? My rear choices are even more limited due to my engine's power output. I just killed a nice set of F1 Supercars back there in a matter of months. I'm now resolved to the reality that Nitto 555R 305/35/18s (drag radials) will be my street tire back there from here on. And I'm in the process of building even more torque into the engine with a stroker block. Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm insane....

I think we get a forum discount. They ship out of Louisiana and I get them the day after ordering them.
There is no discount to CF members. Shipping is pretty quick anywhere in the country as they have both East and West coast warehouses.
I have a set of Toyo T-1S tires on my 02 and they are a very grippy tire but very noisy on the freeway. The T-1S is no longer made and is being replaced by the T-1R. The tread pattern is different but from what I have heard, the compound is the same.
CF member TAC bought a set of Firestones for his Z06 last year and is very satisfied with them. He's done both autocross and track events and he says they definitely do the job.
Go to the Tire Rack site and do some comparisons in the Ultra High Performance category and the sizes you need. If you drive fairly hard in wet weather, the KD's or even the Kumho MX's may not be what you want. Both of these tires are excellent in the dry but they really are not a wet tire.
I ran into the same issue last year w/255 kdw, could not get and called the MFG. said almost same thing you said. If you do order from somewhere else, make sure you ask for the build date. Sometimes the only ones around are old, (hard etc.) Where in mich. did you say had them, if it is close I can check it out for you.

Was it Discount , if so they can track and give you store location or mention warhouse (actually these guys did the work when I asked about build dates etc.).
This is the same crap I went through, and when I did find some 255's(different vendor) they had an 01 build date on them.
'BUT Sir they are still new we got directly from BFG''. I called BFG and they said yes they ship out what is there and don't look at that, and that they would not be doing another run for a few months, but the ones that were sent have been in storage so they are still new.
Never the less, that is why I have 275's on the front and 285's on the rear, they are new w/05 dates.
If I can help you out around here let me know
